The members of Glossop Gymnastic Club are celebrating because they have achieved the British Gymnastics' Gym Mark.
The award recognises the value and commitment made by the club in developing a high quality and welcoming environment for the children doing gymnastics. To achieve the Gym Mark the club had to meet criteria relating to: coaching and training, management, health and safety and child protection issues.
The Gym Mark accreditation means that, parents, guardians and carers can be assured that the club:
Councillor Andrew Bingham, High Peak Borough Council's Executive Member for Social and Community Development, said: "The council wants to provide as many safe and constructive opportunities as possible for young people. The Gym Mark award assures parents and carers that high levels of safety and leadership are guaranteed. Well done to Glossop Gymnastics Club."
