Big clean-up for New Mills

The Big Derbyshire Clean Up is focusing on New Mills for the whole of October, complementing High Peak Borough Council's Going Local initiative.

The work, which is being carried out in partnership between High Peak Borough Council, Derbyshire County Council and New Mills Town Council, will focus on the Torrs and the town centre areas. It includes:

Residents are invited to sign up as volunteer environmental rangers to help with the clean up. They can also nominate 'grot spots' that they would like to be included in the clean up.

Councillor David Lomax, Chair of the Central Area Forum said: "Graffiti, overgrown trees and shrubs and litter are all going to be targeted in the clean up. Please let us know if you would like to help so that we can get New Mills cleaner, greener and safer."
