High Peak Leisure services have a fun-packed programme of activities throughout the borough to help combat half term boredom.
Glossop Leisure Centre is offering a spooky theme with their Halloween Madness activities including organised fun and games in the sports hall (7 - 10 years) and Halloween ZooLab (5 - 9 years) with the Meg and Mog show that features slimy snails, cockroaches , spiders and snakes! Both are taking place on Monday 22 October. There's bouncy castle fun and games on Wednesday 24 October and a Halloween Party on Thursday 25 October.Other activities that week included football coaching, a Halloween craft session, squash coaching and junior table tennis.
At Glossop Pool, in addition to swimming lessons there are family fun swims and aqua scooter sessions. The aqua scooter, for children aged 8 to13 years provides fun in and under water, travelling up to 4.5 kilometres an hour. These special sessions, which must be booked in advance, are on Monday 22 October and Friday 26 October between 9.00 am and 10.00 am.
At Buxton Spa Pool there will be canoeing sessions on Tuesday 23rd October between 9.00 - 10.00am along with a Seadoo Session between 10.00-10.30am and 10.30 -11.00am. Other activities include snorkelling sessions, 'Art Attack' and crash course swimming lessons in the trainer pool.
At New Mills Leisure Centre there is lots of fun for children who can take part in pop lacrosse, sumo camp, snorkelling, family fun swims, junior football coaching, and canoeing.
The programme runs from Monday 22 to Friday 26 October across all four leisure sites.
Councillor Andrew Bingham, High Peak Borough Council's Executive Member for Community and Social Development, said: "There is a huge variety of activities and events taking place this half term ensuring that there really is something for everyone. This is an excellent way to keep children occupied during the holidays so why not come along and have some fun."
