Going Local - New Mills Celebration Event

Date: 18/10/2007

Everyone who helped on the 'New Mills Big Clean-Up' is invited to a celebration party at New Mills Leisure Centre on Friday 26 October.

The event, which starts at 2 pm, is being held to say a big thank you to the volunteers and residents of New Mills for joining forces with High Peak Borough Council, New Mills Parish Council and Groundwork Derby to clean up the town throughout October.

Activities will include football, basketball, a bouncy castle and sumo outfits. There will also be a free BBQ and refreshments served at 3pm.

The project to clean up New Mills was funded through the 'Big Derbyshire Clean-Up' and High Peak Borough Council's 'Going Local' initiative, which forms part of the Area Forum Programme covering the whole of the High Peak.

Councillor David Lomax, Chair of the Central Area Forum, said: "If you helped with the Big Clean-Up, then do come along to the celebration party on Friday."
