Local sports groups have benefited from projects costing £7,684 -- thanks to the sports development team at High Peak Borough Council.
Over the last 6 months, the Council has supported 10 clubs and four individual coaches, by providing initial funding of £2,535. This has enabled the recipients to improve and increase coaching for young people and buy new equipment, through match-funding schemes.
The successful clubs include:
Andrew Bingham, Executive Councillor for Social and Community Development, said: "The Council wants to encourage and support a wide range of sporting and community activities - especially for young people. The sports development initiative is having a real impact, helping local clubs and coaches and, in turn, the wider community."
