Glossopdale Area Forum: spotlight on safer neighbourhoods

Date: 05/02/2008

Helping the police to create safer neighbourhoods will top the agenda at the first Glossopdale Area Forum of 2008; to be held at Glossopdale Community College, Newshaw Lane, Hadfield on Thursday 21 February.

Detective Chief Inspector Sam Slack will introduce a presentation on policing and community safety in High Peak. A consultation exercise seeking the views of local people will follow, which will contribute to the priorities of the High Peak Community Safety Partnership and the local Safer Neighborhoods Teams.

County Councillor George Wharmby, Chairman of the Glossopdale Area Forum, said: "Local residents have a vital part to play in providing local knowledge to help tackle neighbourhood problems and help target limited resources. So do come along to the next Glossopdale Area Forum and share your views with us."

The meeting will include an update of the Going Local funded improvements in Glossopdale and an open questions and answer session.

Refreshments will be available from 6.30pm, when residents can speak to Glossopdale Councillors on a one to one basis before the meeting starts at 7pm.

Glossopdale Community College has facilities for wheelchair users and a hearing loop will be available.
