High Peak's young people have a special opportunity this half term to enlist in the Fitness Training Camp.
From Monday 18 February to Friday 22 February young people aged 11 to 15 years can sign up for supervised fitness sessions from fully qualified instructors. The sessions, which will take place in the fitness suite at Glossop Leisure Centre, will include cardiovascular exercise, resistance, balance and coordination workouts, and sport. Prizes will be awarded for effort and improvement.
The course, which would usually be £20, will only cost £10 for the week because of funding provided by Derbyshire County Council.
Each session lasts for 1 hour, with various starting times throughout the day from 10am to 4pm.
Councillor Andrew Bingham, High Peak Borough Council's Executive Member for Social and Community Development, said: "Why not enlist for the Fitness Training Camp this half term? It is a wonderful opportunity to really start getting healthy and learning to stay that way."
Places are limited so booking is essential.
