A variety of activities for older and younger Gamesley girls

Gamesley Community Centre is offering ladies of all ages the chance to improve their health with a variety of activities on Monday and Thursday evenings.

On Mondays, the ultimate legs, tums and bums workout, costing £3, takes place between 5.15pm and 6pm. The class is designed to give an overall toning workout. The girls' football coaching session kicks off at 6pm for an hour. For only 85p, girls aged 10 to 13 years can turn up for some expert coaching. At 6.30pm, the ladies' beginners jogging group meet for an hour. The session, which is free, is split between walking and jogging and training shoes are essential.

On Thursday evenings, between 5.15pm and 6pm the women's boxing session provides an activity that tones and strengthens muscles - helping overall fitness levels. The sessions cost £3.00 (£2.00 for unemployed people and students).

Councillor Andrew Bingham, High Peak Borough Council's Executive Member for Social and Community Development, said: "The variety of activities at Gamesley Community Centre confirms how the Council works in partnership to provide and support a range of sports, health and physical activity opportunities for all of our residents."
