The 2008 Area Forums start at 7pm on Thursday 7 February at Chapel-en-le-Frith High School, Long Lane, Chapel-en-le-Frith, where safer neighbourhoods will top the agenda.
Chief Superintendent Roger Flint will introduce a presentation on policing and community safety in the High Peak. A consultation exercise seeking the views of local people will follow, which will contribute to the priorities of the High Peak Community Safety Partnership and the local Safer Neighbourhoods Teams.
There will also be, an update of the Going Local funded improvements, including the £525 rewiring of Hayfield Village Hall, and a question and answer session.
Councillor David Lomax, Chairman of the Central Area Forum, said: "I encourage residents to take this opportunity to offer their local knowledge and help to tackle neighbourhood problems and target resources."
Local councillors and officers will be available from 6.30pm to discuss any issues which residents like to raise, over refreshments.
Chapel-en-le-Frith High School has facilities for wheelchair users and a hearing loop will be available.
