A team from the High Peak attended a ceremony held at the historic waterfront in Liverpool, on Thursday, July 24, to collect the Green Flags awarded to the Borough by the Department of Communities and Local Government.
Green Flags were awarded to Manor Park and to Howard Park, in Glossop, and to Pavilion Gardens in Buxton, which is also the only park in the East Midlands to win the higher standard of the Green Heritage Award.
John Haken, Executive Councillor for the Environment, said: "It was an honour for us to represent High Peak Borough Council at the awards ceremony, which celebrated the achievements at Manor Park, Howard Park and Pavilion Gardens. The shared-success is testimony to the work undertaken by the parks team, working in partnership with the Friends groups."
