People across the High Peak, who are worried about crime and anti-social behaviour, will have the chance to air their concerns in a series of events and walkabouts promoting the area as a safe place to live, work and visit.
High Peak Borough Council and Derbyshire Police have joined forces to encourage residents to share their views on safety issues affecting their community and pick up useful tips on crime prevention, as part of the Council's Safer High Peak Campaign.
The Community Safety Team will showcase the work they do, between 10am and 1pm each day, on a display stand,
They have also organised community walk-abouts in the Spring Gardens and Pavilion Gardens area of Buxton, on Friday, August 15, from 4pm to 6pm, and in Chapel-en-le-Frith town centre, on Friday, September 5, from 2pm to 4pm.
"Our aim will be to give people the opportunity to express their views on community safety and consider how their concerns could best be tackled," said Andrew Bingham, Executive Councillor for Community and Social Development, who will be on hand at the display stands and will join the walk-abouts at each venue.
"They can visit our special stands to talk to us about the issues affecting their communities, and to pick up useful information about combating crime and anti-social behaviour. They are also welcome to join us on the walk-abouts to take the opportunity to express their views and discuss possible ways forward."
Anyone interested in joining the walk-abouts,should call 0845 129 7777 or 01298 28400 and leave your name, address and telephone number, and the Community Safety team will contact you, nearer the time.
