Nominations are invited for the 2008 High Peak Community Sports Network Awards.
The awards celebrate the sporting success of athletes and those involved in sport at all levels, who either live in High Peak or who attend clubs within the Borough. They give recognition to people's sporting achievements and commitment; acknowledging participation, volunteering and coaching.
The winners of the Borough awards will qualify for the Derbyshire Sports Awards.
Nominations can be made by anyone involved in schools or sports organisations, within the Borough, and people can be nominated for more than one award. Self-nominations will also be accepted.
Councillor Andrew Bingham, High Peak Borough Council's Executive Member for Community and Social Development, said: "There are many talented sportsmen and women up and down the Borough, in a wide range of sports -- please get your nominations in now. Let's make sure that we recognise all those who deserve to win!"
The closing date for nominations is Friday, August 22, 2008.
