High Peak's Recycling Team will be out and about around the Borough, over the coming carnival weekends, to remind everybody about the many opportunities we have to recycle.
Look out for the Recycling Team in Manor Park on the weekend of July 5 and 6, 2008, for the Glossop Carnival and Day in the Park, and at the Pavilion Gardens promenade during the Buxton Carnival on Saturday, July 12, 2008.
The team will be available to answer all residents' recycling questions and provide information on the Binnovation scheme, home composting, real nappies and waste reduction. They will also be giving away energy saving light bulbs and free yellow lids for green boxes.
The public will have the chance to give climate pledges, where they can promise to change their day-to-day behaviour to reduce their carbon footprints and help the fight against global warming.
John Haken, Executive Councillor for the Environment, said: "Do visit the Recycling Team over the next couple of weekends, and ask them about any recycling tips they may have. In the mean time, how about coming up with a climate pledge?"
