Plan for your future in Glossopdale

Date: 06/05/2008

People in Glossopdale have the opportunity to make suggestions on how the area should be developed over the next 20 years, at the next Area Forum, on Thursday 22 May 2008.

The forum, which will be held at Glossopdale Community College, Talbot Road, Glossop, will start at 7pm and finish at 9pm.

Residents and businesses are invited to attend and discuss: affordable housing, creating jobs in the area, public transport, global warming and improving local landscapes and buildings. High Peak Borough Councillors and staff will be on hand to answer questions, listen to views and take note of any suggestions.

Refreshments will be available from 6.30pm and there will be an informal Councillors' surgery.

Councillor George Wharmby, Glossopdale Area Forum Chairman, said: "We have seen many changes to the physical and environmental landscape in Glossopdale over the years. It is important that local people, groups and businesses take the opportunity to voice their opinions on how they would like to see Glossopdale and High Peak develop in the future.

"There will also be the opportunity to talk informally about local issues and get an update on the Going Local environmental projects, for which a further £10,000 of funding has been made available for spending this year."

People unable to attend can submit a question or comment for inclusion at the meeting up to three days before the event.

The venue has wheelchair access and a hearing loop.
