Date: 20/05/2008

High Peak residents seeking to improve their health might like to attend the new Weight Matters course at Gamesley Community Centre.

Weight Matters gives people the information, help and advice they need to make positive steps at losing weight and improving their health.

The course, which is provided by Tameside and Glossop Primary Care Trust (PCT), has helped hundreds of people, across Tameside and Glossop, improve their health through the help and advice given by the new Weight Matters health trainers.

The Gamesley Weight Matters course, which is free, is on Thursday evenings from 6pm to 7:15pm. It starts on Thursday 5 June and runs for six weeks.

Andrew Bingham, Executive Councillor for Social and Community Development, said: "If you are struggling to incorporate a healthier diet into your lifestyle, or if you just want to look and feel better about yourself, book yourself a place on the Weight Matters course and take the first step to a new you!"

You can book a place on the course through the new ABC (assessment, booking and choice) line at Tameside and Glossop on 0845 053 3302.
