The Pavilion Gardens in Buxton now has a new General Manager, Terry Crawford, who started work this week.

The Council has ambitious plans for the improvement and modernisation of both catering and shopping at the Pavilion Gardens. We want to attract more customers, both local people and visitors, to use the facilities and enjoy the wonderful buildings and surrounding park.

Terry's key challenge will be to make sure the Council's vision for the Pavilion Gardens is delivered. Improving the quality of service and the overall financial performance are at the top of his agenda.

The Council is confident that Terry's experience and achievements are an ideal background for leading the staff team to take the Gardens forward and realise the Council's aspirations for the Pavilion Gardens.

Before joining High Peak Borough Council, Terry worked in the health and fitness sector for David Lloyd Leisure, which operates some of the largest, five-star lifestyle facilities in Europe. Previous to that, Terry was Regional Manager at Total Fitness UK Ltd, responsible for eight sites.

Terry said: "I am absolutely delighted to be taking up the role of General Manager at the Pavilion Gardens. It is a unique attraction with huge potential. I know what a special place it has in the hearts of both local people and visitors. I am really looking forward to working with the staff team to provide really high quality services for the local community and tourists, so that people will want to come back over and over again.'

Tony Kemp, Executive Councillor for Regeneration, said: " I am delighted that Terry has joined the Pavilion Gardens team and look forward to working with him to ensure the success of the Council's plans for this much-loved facility at the heart of Buxton'.
