Energy advice centre closes in Buxton

Date: 11/09/2008

The Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Energy Efficiency Advice Centre (EEAC) in Buxton has closed since Friday, August 29, 2008.

The centre closed because its main funder, the Energy Saving Trust, is changing the advice network, from having operated at local centres, to one that's operated by regional centres.

High Peak residents will be able to receive all your free local energy saving advice from the new East Midlands advice centre, based in Nottingham, by calling the same number - 0800 512 012. Alternatively, you can visit the Energy Saving Trust website at www.energysavingtrust.org.uk (external website**).

John Haken, Executive Councillor for the Environment, said: "The Council is committed to protecting the environment and providing residents with advice information on energy saving. The Energy Saving Trust provides a wealth of information on energy saving products and home improvements, so please visit their website, or give them a call to find out how you can save money and energy this winter."
