Glossopdale Area Forum: public spending priorities

Date: 11/09/2008

The next Glossopdale Area Forum, which takes place on Wednesday, September 24, 2008, will give residents the chance to say how you think public spending should be prioritised.

The forum, which starts at 7pm and ends at 9pm, will be held at Glossopdale Community College, in Talbot Road, Glossop.

Those attending will take part in a discussion about which services deserve priority, when spending public money. For example, is it more important to spend money on parks, affordable housing, reducing crime or cleaning the streets?

The Council and our partners, including Derbyshire County Council, the Police and Derbyshire Fire Service, would like your opinions on making these choices.

County Councillor George Wharmby, Chairman of Glossopdale Area Forum, said: " We want to know which services you see as most important in Glossopdale. This will help us to ensure that we target our spending in response to local needs. So come along and take part in an exercise to identify your top spending priorities."

High Peak Borough Council's Customer Services Team will be available to help with queries about any of our services and to gather feedback about the delivery and provision of service.

The forum will also provide an opportunity for residents to speak to Councillors on a one-to-one basis, from 6.30pm, and towards the end of the evening, there will be an open question and answer session on any issues.

If you wish to submit a question on any topic before the meeting, please email policy@highpeak.gov.uk or phone 0845 129 7777.
