Some of the Borough's residents will shortly receive a survey giving them the opportunity to judge High Peak Borough Council's and other public services' commitment to improving the quality of life in the local area.
High Peak Borough Council will be asking 4,000 residents, randomly selected by Central Government, about: aspects of life in the local area including community safety, local decision making, value for money, road and pavement repairs and other public services.
It is important that people have the opportunity to have their say on public services in order to measure and improve performance. One of the ways this is done is through a new satisfaction survey, called the 'Place Survey' every two years.
The survey is requested by Central Government, and all councils throughout the country send them to their residents to see if they are satisfied with the public services provided.
Some of the questions will provide information for new 'national indicators' that have been agreed by local partners and the Government.
Ipsos Market and Opinion Research International (Ipsos MORI) will conduct the survey on behalf of High Peak Borough Council.
Councillor Tony Ashton, Leader of High Peak Borough Council, said: "At High Peak Borough Council, we are committed to improving services to the community and the quality of life for our residents through working with our partners. To be able to measure our performance it is important that residents have the opportunity to judge and comment on our progress, so that we can see the areas where we may need to make improvements. If you receive a survey form please take the time to complete and return it in the freepost envelope provided."
Residents who have any enquiries about the 'Place Survey' should contact Call High Peak on 0845 129 77 77.
