The Peak District Boost Your Business trade event is being co-ordinated by High Peak Borough Council, High Peak Community Housing and Business Link, with funding support from the Peak District Rural Action Zone Pathfinder.

The event will provide an opportunity for businesses within the Peak District Rural Action Zone, including High Peak, Derbyshire Dales, and parts of Staffordshire Moorlands and East Staffordshire, to find out about accessing potential contracting opportunities and business support services.

A marketplace, of more than 25 stalls, will include representatives from High Peak Borough Council, High Peak Community Housing, Derbyshire County Council, Derbyshire Dales District Council, the University of Derby, Acclaim Housing Group and Constructionline.

A number of workshop sessions will also take place, including working for the public sector, finding contract opportunities on the Source Derbyshire web portal and accessing business support.

Tony Kemp, Executive Councillor for Regeneration, said: "We want to help local businesses have access to the contracting opportunities available in the public sector, and let them know about the business support and grant initiatives for which they may qualify."

Businesses looking for local suppliers or contractors are invited to contact the Council on 0845 129 7777 or 01298 28400, to discuss taking advantage of the limited remaining free exhibition spaces.

Background information: The Peak District Rural Action Zone (RAZ) has been designated by Defra as one of eight national Rural Delivery Pathfinders. The Rural Action Zone area is made up of Derbyshire Dales, High Peak and parts of Staffordshire Moorlands and East Staffordshire.
