High Peak Borough Council is inviting people in Buxton to comment on how BIG Lottery funding should be spent on Brown Edge Road Play Area and Ashwood Park.
The funding is part of a £200,000 grant from the Big Lottery Fund which aims to deliver a variety of improvements to play facilities throughout the Borough.
The award of £20,000 for Brown Edge Road and £50,000 for Ashwood Park follows the development of the Council's play strategy, 'Playtime in the Peak,' which identified priorities for improvement and builds upon last year's projects at Furness Vale and Hadfield, Glossop. Chapel-en-le-Frith and Wormhill Parish Councils will also benefit from £10,000 funding each later this year.
People who live near to the play area on Brown Edge Road will shortly receive a questionnaire asking their opinions on how it should be developed, and further community consultation is also planned to look at proposals for Ashwood Park.
Andrew Bingham, Executive Councillor for Social and Community Development, said: "This is the next step in the Council's improvement plan for local play facilities and we want residents to get involved and put forward their ideas. We look forward to receiving your completed questionnaires."
Anyone who would like a questionnaire or who would like further information may contact Sally Curley on 0845 129 77 77 extension 2205 or email: sallyc@highpeak.gov.uk. Questionnaires can also be completed online.
