High Peak Borough Council has issued a warning to residents that their rubbish and recycling collections may be disrupted due to heavy snowfall over the last few days.
The resulting weather conditions are making it difficult to carry out collections in many areas of the Borough.
If your black bin is missed due to the weather, please leave it out and the Borough Council will aim to return as soon as possible.
If residents do not receive a scheduled green-lidded bin or green recycling box collection over the Christmas and New Year period, please wait until your next collection day as stated on your collection calendar or look on the Council's website at http://www2.highpeak.gov.uk/myproperty/.
Residents are reminded that these collections could be subject to weather and road conditions over the Christmas and New Year period:
Friday 25 December (collection a day earlier on Thursday 24 December)
Saturday 26 December (collection two days earlier on Thursday 24 December)
Monday 28 December (collection a day later on Tuesday 29 December)
Friday 1 January (collection a day later on Saturday 2 January)
Between Thursday 24 and Tuesday 29 December inclusive
Friday 1 January
Please wait for the next collection, when extra waste will be collected if presented in High Peak Borough Council's clear bags (contact the Council on 0845 129 77 77 or 01298 28400 to receive these).
Friday 25 December
Monday 28 December
Friday 1 January
Please wait for the next collection, when extra waste will be collected if presented in boxes or bags.
A spokesperson for High Peak Borough Council said: "We are making every effort to ensure that our rubbish and recycling collections are carried out as normal but it is proving very difficult to carry out collections in some parts of the Borough.
"We would like to take this opportunity to apologise to our residents for the reduced level in service during poor weather conditions which have made it difficult to access roads in and around the Borough.
"All other collections not mentioned above will be unaffected but please be aware that these may also be subject to severe road and weather conditions that may occur over the festive season".
