The Council would like to apologise to residents about the disruptions to refuse and recycling with collections still being affected due to the poor weather and backlog from last week.
If your green-lidded bin (garden waste and cardboard) was missed last week or is missed this week (week commencing 9 February), please take your bin back in and wait for the next scheduled collection. Extra waste will be taken if presented in clear High Peak Borough Council Bags available by phoning 0845 129 77 77 or 01298 28400.
If your black bin was not emptied last week, we will be prioritising these collections, which should be collected by the end of Thursday 12 February (weather permitting). There may also be disruption to collections this week on untreated roads, please leave bins out for collection and we will return as soon as possible
If your box was missed last week, please wait for your next scheduled collection. If it is missed this week, please leave it out for collection and we will return as soon as the weather conditions improve.
Please be aware that the Council's contractor Veolia will also be collecting bins and boxes on a Saturday in order to clear the backlog.
A spokesperson for High Peak Borough Council said: "We are making every effort to deal with the backlog and have been working closely with our contractor Veolia to put extra resources in place to deal with this issue.
"We would like to take this opportunity to apologise to our residents for the reduced level in service during unprecedented weather conditions which have made it difficult to access roads in and around the Borough.
"We would also like to thank you for your patience during this time and reassure everyone that once our roads are fully clear, that the service will return to normal."
