The small car park on Wye Street in Buxton will be closed for about 10 weeks while essential repair work is carried out to the adjoining culvert.
High Peak residents who would normally use their residents' free parking pass in this area, before 10am and after 4pm and all day on Sunday, will be able to use their passes in the main Spring Gardens car park for the duration of the works only, and only at the concessionary times.
Emily Thrane, Executive Councillor for Corporate Services, said: "The closure has reduced significantly the number of spaces near to the main shopping centre available for residents under the concessionary parking scheme. In the interests of business and residents, we have therefore made the main Spring Gardens car park available for residents during the period of closure. Please don't forget to display your pass clearly as the new enforcement arrangements start on Thursday, February. 19, 2009."
