Changes to outlets for payment of Council bills

Date: 13/07/2009

Allpay cards no longer accepted by PayZone

People using Allpay cards to pay Council Tax, business rates or other bills to High Peak Borough Council can no longer do so in PayZone outlets.

Allpay, not the council, is responsible for the change, which took effect from the start of July.

Said Cllr Emily Thrane, deputy council leader and executive councillor for corporate services: "We hope the change will not inconvenience you. There are still many locations where Allpay cards may be used, including all Paypoint outlets and post offices".

Anyone unsure of where their nearest Allpay payment point is can check the location by entering their post code on the Allpay website at www.allpay.net. Alternatively, the council can be contacted on 0845 129 77 77 or 01298 28400.

Customers wanting to change the way they pay their bills can call the council and ask for a direct debit to be set up there and then. Customers wanting to set up a direct debit should have their bank details handy when they call.
