Market Street car park, Buxton will be temporarily closed from 8 am on Wednesday 1 April to 5 pm on Friday 3 April.
The temporary closure of the car park will allow drilling work to take place. The work is being completed as part of a number of enabling studies currently being completed on behalf of High Peak Borough Council by White Young Green consultants.
The enabling studies will provide details about site conditions and constraints and will be used to inform the future redevelopment of the Council's Market Street Environmental Services Depot. One potential option currently being considered for the site is the development of a business innovation centre that could provide accommodation for fledgling businesses in the Borough. A recently completed feasibility study showed there is a demand from residents and local university graduates for a properly managed workspace where they can launch and grow their new enterprises.
The enabling studies are being undertaken with 100% external funding secured by the Council from East Midlands Development Agency's Brownfield Land Action Plan (BLAP).
The closest alternative car park is located at Market Place. Normal restrictions will remain in force at all Council car parks over the period.
