THERE will be no outdoor or indoor market at Glossop on Bank Holiday Monday (25 May).
The decision was taken by High Peak Borough Council after only a handful of traders confirmed their intention to be present on the day.
Said Cllr Tony Kemp, executive member for regeneration: "The council regrets this situation but it would obviously be very wrong to leave people under the impression that a full market would be operating, only for them to arrive and be disappointed that so few stalls were actually present.
"In the circumstances, it was felt best to cancel the Bank Holiday Market", he explained.
