Mile munching staff from Glossop Leisure Centre will be pounding a treadmill for an exhausting 10 hours on Friday 20 November.
The lung-bursting effort is one of three activities being organised at the venue by High Peak Borough Council and DC Leisure.
Members of the leisure centre gymnasium will be challenged to guess how far the staff will run during the 10 hours while, at 6.30pm, the circuit training staff will be keeping fit in fancy dress.
Said Andrew Bingham, Executive Councillor for Social and Community Development: "Staff will be running the treadmill in relay, and donations from customers will be most welcome. Children in Need does fantastic work for disadvantaged young people, at home and abroad, so I'm delighted that the council and DC Leisure are playing their part".
