New High Peak Recycling Calendar on way

Date: 17/11/2009

By the end of November, all High Peak residents will have received a new recycling and rubbish collection calendar.

Giving collection dates until next October, the calendars are being delivered from this week with the winter edition of Connect, the Borough Council's magazine for residents.

Accompanied by a reminder of the council's recycling services, the calendar will be on top of the magazine within a plastic wrapping.

Said John Haken, Executive Councillor for the Environment: "We thought we should take this opportunity to give our recycling rates a push by using the calendar to remind residents of our comprehensive kerbside collection service. Our recycling rate is hovering at around 40 per cent at the moment, which is in line with the Government's target, but we know we can go even further with the help of our residents".

As collection dates have not changed, any resident whose calendar displays different information should call the council on 0845 129 77 77 / 01298 28400 or send an e-mail to customer-services@highpeak.gov.uk.

The calendars will also be available online. For further information, residents should visit www.highpeak.gov.uk and type in their address.
