If you fancy keeping fit and making new friends into the bargain, then Glossop Leisure Centre is the place to be.
Run by DC Leisure for High Peak Borough Council, the popular venue will throw open its doors on Monday (19 April for a series of group exercise sessions.
The fitness fun starts with two free classes for participants aged 50 and over. Aerobics will take place from 10.30am to 11.15am, to be followed by chair-based exercise from 11.30am to 12 noon.
Sandwiches and hot drinks will be served up in the lounge between 12 noon and 1.30pm while local physiotherapy practice Bodyworks will be on hand to offer advice on sports injuries and safe exercise.
In the evening, a series of free sessions for all comers will feature studio cycling with disco lights from 5.45pm to 6.15pm, 6.45pm to 7.15pm and 7.45pm to 8.15pm.
Circuit training will take place for an hour from 6.30pm while the evening will end with martial arts-based exercise from 8.30pm to 9.30pm.
Just for good measure, there will be free, 10-minute taster massage sessions between 6pm and 8pm.
For those who prefer to take their exercise in smaller numbers, a six-week beginners' course in squash and racquetball will start on Saturday, April 17.
Running from 10am to 12 noon on successive Saturdays until 22 May , the course costs £24 and is suitable for people aged 15 and over.
