Budding entrepreneurs interested in setting up their own business have been urged to attend a workshop to help them decide if self employment is right for them.
The invitation was extended this week by High Peak Borough Council, which has joined forces with Business Link to stage a one-day advisory event at Glossop Business Centre on Wednesday, September 22 and at Buxton Old Hall Hotel the following Monday.
Intended to highlight the basics of starting a business, the workshops will follow an event being organised by the Council and HM Revenue and Customs at New Mills Adult Education Centre on Wednesday, September 8 to help the self employed steer clear of taxation pitfalls.
The popular half-day tax workshop will look at Income Tax, VAT, record keeping and reporting requirements.
Tony Kemp, Executive Councillor for Regeneration, said: "We're committed to supporting the creation of jobs and prosperity in our community. These new workshops will add to our growing programme of support, grants and essential information for small businesses.
"I would urge anyone with a business idea, or anyone who wants to learn more about self employment as an option for them, to take advantage of these thought-provoking and practical events", he added.
