Calling All Members and Non-Members!
Glossop leisure centre are playing host to an exciting cycling event that hopes to raise at least £1,000 for charity.
And for anyone who has wanted to try out the Centre's popular studio cycling class - this event will give you the opportunity to have a go for free! The only catch is that you help to raise as much money as possible for Cancer Research UK
Taking place on Wednesday 18 August, the event will start at 9.30am and finish 12 hours later at 9.30pm. The aim of the day will be to keep at least 2 of the exercise bikes spinning continuously for the full 12 hours. However, people can opt to do as many or as few one-hour sessions as they like.
Jean Wharmby, Executive Councillor for Social and Community Development said: "This will be a fantastic community event that not only helps to raise money for a very worthwhile charity but also tones you up in the process! It's also a great way to try out some of Council's leisure facilities for free and I'd urge anyone to get themselves a sponsor and get involved."
There will be 12 bikes available for booking for every hour session throughout the day. The class will be free for anyone wishing to participate. Book your place by contacting Glossop Leisure Centre on 01457 842272 and start collecting sponsors now.
