Scheduled waste collections were taking place across High Peak today (Monday 18 January).
However, there was a possibility that some rural roads might remain inaccessible.
Households whose black bin was missed last week should leave it at the kerbside for collection as soon as possible. Residents whose green bin or green box was missed should return it to its normal location and then present it at the kerbside for the next scheduled collection.
Said John Haken, Executive Councillor for the Environment: "Thankfully, the improved weather has allowed us to restart collections across the borough, although it's possible that a few country roads may still be too dangerous for our refuse freighters to enter.
"I want to thank residents for their patience and understanding during the recent appalling weather, and I want to thank our collection crews for battling against extreme conditions to continue providing a service across much of the High Peak.
"While the better weather holds, we'll be doing everything we can to clear the backlog", he pledged.
