High Peak residents have been urged to make themselves heard on ambitious plans to revitalise Whaley Bridge Memorial Park.
The plea was made this week by the Borough Council, which is to bid for more than £400,000 from the Heritage Lottery and Big Lottery Funds.
To ensure that the proposals reflect the public's wishes, consultation will take place at the Tesco store, Whaley Bridge from Thursday 4 February to Saturday 6 February inclusive.
Alternatively, residents can have their say by calling 0845 129 77 77 or (01298) 28400. People can also comment online by visiting www.highpeak.gov.uk/culture/parks, where a questionnaire can be completed and the plans inspected.
Said John Haken, Executive Councillor for the Environment: "The memorial park is a much loved but rather tired facility that needs a new lease of life. We want to introduce facilities that will make the park a focal point of community life once more.
"However, if we're to secure the funding we need, we'll have to demonstrate that our plans reflect community needs and aspirations. This is why it's so important that people have their say", he stressed.
