Spring into action at High Peak Leisure Centres

Date: 01/03/2010

It might not feel like it but spring is here and it is time to get up, get out and get active!

And there are no better places to get physical than the Glossop and New Mills Leisure Centres, managed by DC Leisure for High Peak Borough Council.

To mark the end of winter, leisure centre customers have been offered an unmissable opportunity to become Kinetika members for a taster period of three months - instead of the customary year.

Kinetika membership offers unlimited use of the gym, swimming pool and exercise classes.

To help new members make the most of their visits, they are invited to take the Kinetika Journey: a series of five one-to-one appointments with a qualified fitness instructor who will discuss fitness goals, devise a personalised programme and explain how to use the equipment safely and correctly.

Said New Mills fitness manager David Booth: "If you're keen to start exercising on a regular basis but not quite sure how it will fit into your daily schedule, a short-term membership is just what you need.

"It offers excellent value for money and a perfect opportunity to use the facilities, find time in your weekly routine and get into the habit of working out before signing up for a longer-term commitment", he explained.

Andrew Bingham, Executive Councillor for Social and Community Development, added: "With first-rate facilities and lots of activities to try, there really is something for the whole family to enjoy.

"Working with DC Leisure, we're committed to providing the best possible sport and leisure opportunities for High Peak people in order to promote healthy and fulfilling lifestyles", he stressed.
