Our Development Control team considers applications from property owners and developers who want to build new structures, make alterations to the fabric of existing buildings, change the use of land and buildings, carry out engineering operations or erect signs and advertising. They ensure that all development is within the approved policies of the Council, seek the views of neighbours and others who may be affected by proposals and take appropriate action against any unauthorised development.
Planning Applications can be viewed online since April 2001. Applications which were received from May 2006 contain electronic copies of plans, documents and the decision, in relation to the submitted application for you to view online and download, alternatively you can visit our offices, by arrangement, to view an application - contact our Customer Services on 0845 129 77 77 or 01298 28400. Documents are available to view online within five working days of application registration. To search for an application, or to make comments on an application form go to the planning applications section.
Please note: Once we make a planning decision, the decision notice and plans are available through our planning applications section. We no longer send out paper copies of plans.
