
We have recently completed a character appraisal for the Buxton Conservation Area. The Character Appraisal sets out what is important about an area in terms of its character, architecture, history, development form and landscaping. They are important documents in helping to guide appropriate development within conservation areas.
As a part of this assessment, the existing Town Centre conservation area boundaries have also been reviewed. Following public consultation we have recently adopted some changes to the current boundaries.
Briefly the extensions include the following areas: Corbar Woods and Walks; Bridge Street and Ashwood Park; Hardwick Square South and South Avenue and London Road and Ash Street.
