Historic Area Grant Schemes

If you live or work in a Conservation Area, grants may be available towards repairing and restoring your home or business premises. Grant schemes are established in the following areas: Higher Buxton and Bridge Street, Chapel-en-le-Frith, Glossop, Hadfield, New Mills and Whaley Bridge. The schemes are all area based partnership schemes, with the primary aim of improving the appearance, character and vitality of the Borough’s towns through heritage-led regeneration. The Council has identified targeted historic buildings for grant aid.

Partnership Scheme in Conservation Areas (PSiCA)

This is a partnership scheme between High Peak Borough Council, English Heritage and Derbyshire County Council to target funds for the preservation, enhancement and regeneration within three of the Borough’s historic towns - Buxton (Higher Buxton and Bridge Street), New Mills and Chapel-en-le-Frith.

Glossopdale Townscape Heritage Initiative (THI)

The Glossopdale THI is a grant giving programme, funded by The Heritage Lottery Fund (external website**), Borough Council, County Council, Derby and Derbyshire Economic Partnership. Together, a fund of £2.6million has been established to regenerate the historic environment of Glossop. The THI has a fundamental role in delivering the Glossop Vision.
