This Interim Planning Statement (IPS) has been prepared, following the formal withdrawal of the Woods Mill Area Action Plan (AAP) by High Peak Borough Council, in January 2008.
The document specifies the Council's vision and objectives for the site and outlines design principles and other criteria that will be used by the Council when assessing proposals for development.
Extending to about 6.5 hectares, the Woods Mill site is bounded by High Street East to the north and Shirebrook Drive to the east. Glossop Brook forms the southern boundary while Howard Town Mill, which is presently subject to comprehensive redevelopment, lies immediately adjacent to the west.
