Joint Affordable Housing DPD

Background

The Joint Affordable Housing DPD Issues and Options document went out to consultation with stakeholders in July 2007 for a period of eight weeks. The document was designed to stimulate a debate about the issues facing High Peak and Derbyshire Dales planning authorities in respect of the delivery of affordable housing through the planning system. It aims to assist the two local planning authorities in moving forward by putting in place new planning policies on affordable housing.

The Sustainability Appraisal considered the Affordable Housing DPD’s implications, from a social, economic and environmental perspective, by assessing options and the DPD against available baseline data and sustainability objectives.

We are currently in the process of reviewing the responses from stakeholders and a Preferred Options public consultation is due to begin in January 2008.
