
Planning Policy Statement 3 requires that the Council can show it has enough land for housing for the next five years.
The draft East Midlands Regional Spatial Strategy requires 270 dwellings per year in High Peak, between 2001 and 2026. Since 2001, 2,310 houses have been built, leaving a requirement of 1,170 over the next five years. There is sufficient land identified for 1,457 houses.
The assessment shows that there is sufficient land, with planning permission, for at least five years. The five-year land supply will be reviewed annually.
