An Area Action Plan (AAP) is a statutory planning document, which focuses upon a specific location or area subject to conservation or significant change (for example major regeneration). It sets out the Council's vision for the kind of place that should be developed over the next 10 - 15 years. It provides guidance about the development of sites and buildings within that area.
Once finalised, the document will form part of the Local Development Framework and will be a Development Plan Document. In other words the Area Action Plan will form the Council's planning policy for the area.
