If you wish to open a dog breeding establishment you need to have a licence. A breeding establishment is any premises where the business of breeding dogs for sale is carried on, including over the internet and from home.
What we must consider
We must be sure that the following conditions are met before we issue a licence:
- that animals will be kept in suitable accommodation
- adequate food and drink will be provided
- any mammalian animals will not be sold too young
- that steps are taken to prevent disease spreading among the animals
- that adequate fire and emergency provisions are in place
