Position with AES

Job Title:Transport Manager- Workshop

 

Salary:Circa£33,136 (subject to evaluation)

Location: Fowlchurch Depot, Leek & Waterswallows Depot, Buxton (with some requirement to travel)

Hours of Work:40 hours per week

 

Alliance Environmental Services are looking for a qualified HGV Transport Manager to join our busy team to oversee the fleet maintenance and workshop function of our growing company.

The successful candidate will be responsible for all fleet vehicles / plant and machinery within the business. The position further involves being the nominated Transport Manager for the company's O licence.

Key responsibilities include;

·         Day to day running of the AES fleet

o   Oversight, management and planning of workshop staff

o   Handling defect reports and remedial repairs as required.

o   Ensuring effective and compliant functioning of the workshops in line with Health and Safety regulations

o   Management of maintenance and inspection schedules for fleet, other company vehicles , all plant & machinery ( inclusive of MOT's and O licence)

o   Supporting the procurement process

·         Financial monitoring including forecasting and in year budget management and business planning in relation to the fleet workshop and associated contracts

·         Handling the requirements of the AES Operators licence.

o   Managing some aspects relating to drivers as required, e.g. drivers hours, tachograph and working time directive, monitoring licence and CPC card checks.

o   Managing the AES O licence and ensure changes are reflected in a timely manner.

o   Ensuring O licence agreed maintenance regulations are adhered to.

·         Investigating accidents or incidents, including insurance claims

·         Report on all aspects of fleet/O Licence and feedback to senior managers budget updates.

Essential requirements

·         Management HGV CPC holder with experience

·         Ability to comply with all aspects of the AES O Licence

·         Previous workshop and fleet management role.

·         Excellent working knowledge of road transport legislation.

Desirable

·         Knowledge of fleet management systems

 

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, knowledge of logistics and a strong understanding of Health and Safety legislation requirements.
