Set up and access your My Benefits account

The My Council Tax and Benefits portal is currently unavailable due to essential maintenance taking place. It will be available from Monday 19 January 2026.

You can now set up a new benefit account, which will enable you to access information online.  This includes:

  • when you'll receive your next payment
  • how much you are entitled to 
  • when your last payment was
  • your entitlement period

You can apply for an account if you have an existing Council Tax Account or Benefit claim.  You will need your Council Tax Account or Benefit reference and National Insurance number to create an account.
