What goes in your bins

Natural Christmas trees should be cut up and placed inside the green-lidded bin or, if less than 5' tall, left whole beside the bin on collection day up until 31 January 2020.

Trees can also be taken to the tip in Buxton or Glossop.

The council no longer operates a shredding service so please do not leave your tree in a car park. Dumping waste (including trees) is classed as fly tipping and anyone caught could face prosecution and a fine of up to £50,000.

We will only empty bins and red textile bags provided by us. If your house is assessed as not suitable for wheeled bins we will provide you with alternative containers to use.
