Consultations

When a decision is likely to affect individuals, businesses or organisations, the council seeks their views before taking the decision.

Where the decision is likely to have an impact on the general public, a special consultation process is held to gather the views of the community. The consultation may take the form of a questionnaire, public meetings, exhibitions, posters or all of these, depending on the issue.

We regularly carry out consultation exercises before taking decisions on council services and strategies - here you can find out information on current consultations.

A direct feedback form is included in each consultation.

Draft Licensing Policy 2026 - 2031

We are consulting on our Statement of Licensing Policy under the Licensing Act 2003. This is a process that occurs every 5 years, and can also be carried out in the interim if required.

The end of the consultation period for this draft policy is 30 September 2026. Please read the draft policy below and send any comments (prior to this date) to licensing@highpeak.gov.uk
