Where the decision is likely to have an impact on the general public, a special consultation process is held to gather the views of the community. The consultation may take the form of a questionnaire, public meetings, exhibitions, posters or all of these, depending on the issue.

We regularly carry out consultation exercises before taking decisions on council services and strategies - here you can find out information on current consultations.

A direct feedback form is included in each consultation.

Residents' Survey

The Council works closely with other public services such as the police, health, business and community representatives to make decisions about local services for our residents'. We would like to know what you think about what it's like to live in your area so we can ensure we are dealing with the issues that concern and matter to you.

This survey asks for your opinions about how we are doing, aspects of the quality of life in your local area (such as community safety, local services etc) which we know are important to our local communities. By your local area, we mean the area within 15-20 minutes walking distance from your home. The findings from this research will be used to see how well ourselves and our partners are doing at delivering the services that matter to you and to decide what needs doing differently in the future.

To ensure personal information about you is secure, all of your answers will be treated in the strictest confidence and will be stored securely. Responses, will not include personal information, will only be used by ourselves to see how well we are performing. If you have any questions or concerns about this survey please do not hesitate to contact
