Council run allotments

High Peak Borough Council is following the guidelines and advice from central government at this time. In line with the government, we are asking all plot holders, who are visiting their plot to follow the social distancing and hygiene protocols. Both Council run sites at Cunningdale, Buxton and Jordan Street, Glossop remain open for essential visits to livestock or as your daily exercise.  

For all other sites, please refer to your own association for guidance.

Where can I rent an allotment?

Cunningdale Allotments

 Dew Pond Lane, Fairfield, Buxton SK17 7LF

  • 87 plots with a waiting list
  • Mains water and limited parking on site

Jordan Street Allotments

Jordan Street, Glossop SK13 8QG

  • 10 plots with a long waiting list
  • No mains water

How much is an allotment?

The yearly rent for a full size plot is £62 (£63.00 from 1st April 2023), a half size plot is £44 (£45.00 from 1st April 2023).

Rent is payable annually in April or May unless other arrangements have been made.

Only High Peak residents can apply for an allotment and due to demand only one application is allowed per household.
