Street cleaning

What we are responsible for

We are responsible for keeping adopted highways and pavements clean and free from litter.

Street sweeping is carried out on a rolling schedule. Generally urban areas are swept more frequently than rural areas.

We will also remove needles or drug waste and dead animals from public land.

Please report litter in parks or play areas to our Parks team.

A spillage or obstacle in the road causing a danger to traffic should be reported to the Highways team at Derbyshire County Council.

Sewage on the road should be reported to the relevant utility company.

Contact United Utilities (opens new window) for Chapel-en-le-Frith, Chinley, New Mills and Whaley Bridge areas.

Contact Severn Trent (opens new window) for Buxton, Dove Holes and the Hope Valley.
